Course Content

  1. How to understand the operation of the PTO and PTO percentages
  2. Pump types including variable displacement piston pumps, gear and vane type
  3. Hydraulic component identification
  4. Remote control trouble shooting
  5. Electronic crane systems
  6. Load testing
  7. Valve types including Mono-block, Sectional, Commercial, Danfoss, open and closed center, Load Sensing, Variable Displacement, etc.
  8. Load holding vs. counter balance valves, Port Relief, velocity Fuses, sequencing Valves
  9. Winch, Pallet fork and clam bucket maintenance
  10. Boom design, stiff booms vs. articulated loader cranes
  11. Insight into emerging crane technologies, remote control etc

Resources

Each participant will receive a detailed service workbook and specialized resources relating to the equipment. They will participate with a more “hands on” approach to the servicing and maintenance of the crane and its hydraulic and mechanical components.

Course Outcome

Each participant will be provided with a maintenance familiarization certificate.
